Put council votes on your site
Show your readers how their council voted, right inside your own posts. You get a ready-made block of votes with links to the official record. It is free, there is nothing to install, and it keeps showing exactly the votes you picked, even years later. See every BC council.
How to add it to your site
- Pick what to show. Choose the council, the From and To months and a topic below. Leave “Split votes only” ticked to show just the votes council disagreed on.
- Check the preview. It shows exactly what your readers will see. Change the heading if you like.
- Click “Copy the code.”
- Paste it into your post as code, not as text.
- Divi: add a Code module where you want the votes, and paste into it.
- WordPress block editor: add a Custom HTML block, and paste into it.
- Squarespace: a Code block. Wix: Embed HTML.
- Preview your post, then publish. If you see a wall of code instead of the votes, it went into a text block: delete it and paste it into a code block instead.
Each vote in the block links to its full record on the tracker, and a small credit line at the bottom links back here. Questions or a council you want added: sep@zioadvertising.com.
