Email setup agent: Cloudflare Worker + Resend contact form

This is the email setup agent from the Cloudflare + Resend videos. Paste it into Claude Code inside your website project and it builds a Cloudflare Worker that receives your contact form, sends the email through Resend, and redirects to a thank-you page. The most common failure (the API key not saved as a Worker secret) is handled in the steps.

Works with: Claude Code in your website project folder. You need free Cloudflare and Resend accounts and a domain you can add DNS records to.

How to use it

  1. Create free accounts at cloudflare.com and resend.com.
  2. Open Claude Code in your website project and paste the prompt below.
  3. Claude will ask you to run "npx wrangler login" and to paste your Resend API key into "npx wrangler secret put RESEND_API_KEY". Never paste the key into code.
  4. Submit a real test from your live form and confirm the email arrives.

The prompt

Act as my email setup agent. Wire this website's contact form to a Cloudflare Worker that sends the submission to my inbox through Resend.

First, ask me for: the email address that should receive leads, my domain, and which form(s) on the site to connect. Then:

1. RESEND DOMAIN
- Walk me through adding my domain in Resend and the DNS records it gives me (SPF/DKIM). If my DNS is on Cloudflare, tell me exactly where to add them.
- Do not continue until Resend shows the domain as Verified. Sending from an unverified domain is the #1 reason this setup fails.

2. WORKER
- Create a Cloudflare Worker project with a wrangler.toml (name, main, compatibility_date).
- The Worker accepts POST requests from my form (form data or JSON), validates name, email and message, and rejects empty or obviously fake submissions.
- Add spam protection: a hidden honeypot field (reject if filled) and a short list of disposable email domains to block.
- Send the email with Resend's API (POST https://api.resend.com/emails) from an address on my verified domain, with reply_to set to the visitor's email.
- Return proper CORS headers for my domain only, and handle the OPTIONS preflight.
- On success redirect to /thank-you (or return JSON if the form uses fetch).
- Log errors with console.log so I can see them in "npx wrangler tail".

3. SECRETS (important)
- The Resend API key must be stored with "npx wrangler secret put RESEND_API_KEY", never in code, wrangler.toml or the frontend. Read it in the Worker as env.RESEND_API_KEY.
- Always deploy with "npx wrangler deploy" using wrangler.toml.

4. FRONTEND
- Point my form's action (or fetch call) at the Worker URL, add the honeypot field, and create a simple /thank-you page if there isn't one.

5. TEST
- Send a test with curl and show me the response.
- Then tell me to submit the live form myself, and if the email does not arrive, run "npx wrangler tail", read the error and fix it. Common causes: secret missing, domain not verified, wrong "from" address, CORS blocking the request.

Explain each step in one or two plain sentences as you go.
