MVP Development Cost: What 12 Studios Charge (2026)
Quick Answer
Published MVP prices from 12 studios ranged from $1,999 to $150,000+. Most fixed-price packages built in two to four weeks were listed between roughly $3,000 and $16,000, usually capped at a few core features. Higher prices bought more platforms, custom design, payments, and AI features. Every price below was checked on the company's own website on September 25, 2026.

Comparing MVP quotes that each include something different.
Most articles about MVP development cost give you a range with no source. We did something more useful: we found studios that actually publish their MVP prices and checked each number on their own site.
We build and ship MVPs too, including two iOS apps that are live on the App Store, and we do not publish our own prices (more on that below). So treat this as a map of the market, not a sales pitch. Prices change, so click through and confirm before you budget around any of them.

Plenty of well-known studios keep pricing behind a sales call, so they are not in this table. For wider context, Clutch reports that software projects reviewed on its platform most often land between $10,000 and $49,000, with an average around $132,000, but that covers all software projects, not just MVPs.
What the price differences mean
Low prices come with feature caps
Vibe's $5,990 covers 2 core features. HouseofMVPs' $3,999 tier covers 1. That is not a trick, it is the product, but it means the cheapest quote may not cover what your idea actually needs.
Platforms drive the jumps
MVP Factory's entry tier is a single platform. Its middle tier adds iOS, Android and web. Across studios, more platforms is one of the clearest reasons a price doubles.
Fixed totals vs. monthly rates
Most studios here quote a fixed total. Aalpha prices by the month depending on the engagement model, so the final number depends on how long the build runs.
Some cheap tiers are no-code
Rapid MVP Development says its entry tier is built on Bubble or Webflow. That is fine for testing demand, but ask what happens when you outgrow it.
Watch for promo pricing
Webscension's $2,997 is shown as 50 percent off a regular $5,994. Promotions end, so budget for the regular price.
Marketing pages and minimums can differ
Space-O's site says a basic MVP can start from $15,000, while its Clutch profile lists a $25,000+ minimum project size. Ask which one applies to you.
Agency hourly rates by country
When a studio bills by the hour instead of a fixed price, location matters. Clutch lists these typical software development agency rates:
| Country | Typical Rate (Clutch) |
|---|---|
| India, Ukraine, Philippines, Mexico | $25-$49/hr |
| United States, Poland | $50-$99/hr |
| Canada, Australia | $100-$149/hr |
The rate gap is usually bigger than the total-cost gap. A lower rate with more hours, or a rebuild after the first version, can end up costing as much as a senior team that ships it once.
What to ask before you sign
- How many features does the price cover, and what counts as one?
- Which platforms are included? Web only, or iOS and Android too? Is App Store submission included?
- Who owns the code and the accounts? The repository, hosting, and App Store listing should be in your name.
- How are changes priced once the build starts?
- What happens after launch? How long is the bug-fix window, and what does ongoing support cost?
- Who actually builds it, and where are they? Several studios in this list do not state a location on their site.
- Can you see something they shipped that real users use today?
Costs founders forget
- Support after launch: published examples include BuildMVPFast at $999 a month, HouseofMVPs at $3,000 per bi-weekly sprint, and MVP Factory at $2,000 to $5,000 a month.
- Apple's fees: the $99 yearly developer program, plus Apple's commission on in-app purchases (15 percent in the Small Business Program).
- Usage costs: hosting, database, AI API calls, SMS, and email. Small at first, but they grow with every user.
- App Store review: App Review sent our Shift Excellence iOS app back more than once over how its in-app purchases were set up and presented. That is common and fixable, but it has to be in the timeline.
- Analytics: if nobody sets up tracking for signups, activation, and retention, you will have nothing to show investors after launch.
How the build fits your raise
Carta's State of Pre-Seed: 2025 in Review found that U.S. startups on its platform raised $10.4 billion across 50,316 SAFEs and convertible notes in 2025. Median valuation caps on post-money SAFEs were around $10 million for rounds of $250,000 to $1 million, and around $15 million for rounds of $1 million to $2.5 million.
Against a round that size, even the higher published packages above are a manageable line item. The real risk is not overspending by a few thousand dollars. It is buying a build that does not prove anything to the next investor. Michael Seibel of Y Combinator says an MVP should be “ridiculously simple” and built “in weeks, not months,” and his first step is to “time box your spec.” Our guide on how to build an MVP investors take seriously walks through that part.
Where Zio fits
We do not publish MVP prices, because the right number depends on what your round needs to prove: web or iOS, one user type or two, payments, AI. Instead, every build starts with a fixed-price scoping sprint that produces a phased, fixed-price quote you keep either way.
What we can point to: two iOS apps we built and got through App Store review, Shift Excellence and PaintQuote Pro, plus web products running in production. You work directly with the person writing the code, and you own the repository and accounts from day one. See how our MVP development works.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do MVP development companies charge?▼
Among the 12 studios we checked that publish prices on their own websites, advertised MVP prices ranged from $1,999 for a basic package to $150,000 or more for a premium tier. Most fixed-price packages built in two to four weeks were listed between roughly $3,000 and $16,000, usually with a cap on the number of features.
Why do MVP prices vary so much?▼
Mostly because the packages are not the same product. A $2,000 package might cover one platform and a handful of screens, while a $45,000 tier from the same kind of studio adds iOS, Android and web, custom design, and payment integrations. Location, team seniority, and whether the price is fixed or monthly also change the number.
Is it cheaper to build an MVP offshore?▼
The hourly rate usually is. Clutch lists typical agency rates of $25 to $49 an hour in India, Ukraine, and the Philippines, against $50 to $99 in the United States and $100 to $149 in Canada. The total gap is often smaller than the rate gap, because time zones, looser specs, and rework add hours.
Should I pick a fixed-price MVP package?▼
A fixed price is good for your budget, as long as you know exactly what it covers. Check the feature cap, which platforms are included, who owns the code and accounts, how change requests are priced, and what support looks like after launch. A cheap package that needs a rebuild six months later is not cheap.
What does it cost to keep an MVP running after launch?▼
Several studios publish their support pricing: BuildMVPFast lists $999 a month, HouseofMVPs lists $3,000 per bi-weekly sprint, and MVP Factory lists $2,000 to $5,000 a month. On top of support, budget for hosting and usage costs, and for iOS apps, Apple's $99 yearly developer fee plus its commission on in-app purchases.
Does Zio Advertising publish MVP prices?▼
No. We scope every MVP with a fixed-price sprint first, then quote the build as fixed-price phases, because the right number depends on the platform, user types, and features your raise actually needs. You keep the plan and the quote whether or not you build with us.
Want a fixed number for your MVP?
We scope MVPs on a fixed-price sprint and hand you a phased, fixed-price build plan you keep either way.
